Konan Citizen is an app designed by the Public Safety Policy Research Institute of the National Police University and Infiniguru to protect you from online threats related to voice phishing. By means of an analysis tool of the applications installed on your device, the app is able to detect if they are real applications or if they are fake applications that may endanger your security.

Fighting voice phishing

The app, developed by the police as a replacement for Phishing Eyes Police, is intended to be a first barrier to stop voice phishing, including phishing applications, smishing, remote control, etc. These types of attacks are very dangerous, as they can impersonate your identity and make you lose a lot of money.

Protection against major attacks

Konan Citizen protects against five different attacks: malicious apps, remote control apps, fake text messages, KakaoTalk phishing, and fake calls. In turn, it also protects from the main channels of financial extortion, including apps, websites, ATMs or payment points.

Real-time application analysis

To operate, Konan Citizen analyzes in real time the apps installed on the device, including those that can impersonate public institutions or state security forces. It also analyzes those that have been installed from unknown sources, and removes them in case it detects malicious behavior. If it detects them, it collects the app's information, and may even block financial transactions such as transfers or loans to prevent further damage. To do this, it requires overlay permissions on the screen, so you have to grant it for it to work properly.
